Lol, how long has it been since I've made a journal entry?

Anyways, I went to my first ever con this weekend. I went as Yuri, and my three friends went as Flynn, Karol, and someone in no costume.

Saturday morning, me, Karol and the guy with no costume (Kevin) went to pick Flynn up, but his mom told us to go on without him. So we went to the con, and waited for our Flynn to show up.

Everything got delayed and nothing opened for the longest time. Which was really boring since we showed up about an hour before everything was suppose to start. We alternated between stalking the front doors to ambush people for pictures, and standing downstairs waiting for things to open. It was very hot and stuffy downstairs though.

It was then for the first time that I realized holding Yuri's sword (Second Star) by the ribbons the way he does is impossible because my sword doesn't balance that way. I ended up trying to hold it by the ribbon by pressing my hand right up against the sword. It worked, but I'll regret it later a lot. The ribbon wore through the skin on my hand by the second day >.>

Note to self: Idiot, just hold it by the sheath. Screw how Yuri actually holds it.

When things finally opened, we checked into the Hetalia panel. None of us has ever watched Hetalia, but it mentioned free candy, which drew us all there. But since we couldn't keep up with the discussion at all, we left half-way through. We met Flynn at the door, with half of his cosplay missing, which was what kept him that morning.

His armour exploded the night before D= At least the rest of his costume was amazing. BTW, this was the first time I got to see Flynn and Karol's costumes.

We proceeded to go around the con, playing games, watching anime, attending panels, bought stuff, and all the stuff you do at a con. We met two other Tales cosplayers, a Jade (with red eyes and everything except the glasses!) and a Zelos (free hugs, wheee~).

We went to a nearby mall for lunch. So many people gave us weird stares XD Poor normals. Now that I mention it, most of the normal guests at the hotel where the convention was taking place looked rather confused. It seems they didn't know there would be a freakshow- um...uh... anime convention there when they booked their rooms XP

Anyways, me and Kevin split a subway, Karol had his own, and Flynn got a pizza. We all finished and then waited another half an hour for Karol to finish.

Back to the convention! I can't remember everything we did, but we watched two new animes that we're considering showing to the Anime Club at school. We also got a Pokemon Legendary History lesson at the panels, had a contest to name the anime where songs came from, Flynn pwned Edward Elric in DDR, we bought a D&D 3.5 book, and screwed around until about 9:00PM.

We had dinner at the mall. See, I'm Chinese and my family eats everything we would eat if we were still in China. Eating western food is a rare occurrence to me. Holy smokes you guys eat huge amounts of food that plate was huge >.>

Karol's parents was supposed to pick us up, but they weren't home for some reason, so we got Kevin's dad to pick us up instead.

By the end of the day, my left shoulder was aching. Yuri, you're crazy carrying the sword around all day D= Tie it onto your belt or something plz >.> Not to mention that Bhodi Blastia...it's not that heavy, but wearing something that big all day...

(We found out later that overnight, during the all-night Rave party at the convention, someone laced the water with drugs of some sort. The Rave got canceled and six people had to be sent to the hospital and the convention was almost canceled ;_; People who do these things are jerks. I hate you.)

The next morning, my dad drove us to the con. Karol left his sword in the car, and my dad doesn't answer his cellphone while driving, so we lost that sword for the day.

We went to a Kingdom hearts panel, which totally made me feel left out and kinda depressed. Does anyone here remember when I was the biggest Kingdom Hearts fan ever? I couldn't follow a thing D= Who was Larxene again?

We stalked the games room a few times, went to buy more stuff, and decided to have lunch early. Me and Kevin split a subway (with lots of hot peppers and Tabasco sauce!) while Flynn and Karol split a subway. A piece of Flynn's sword broke and was hanging on by a very thin piece of wood, so went sent it home through his dad before it broke completely. That's two out of three swords we lost that day. I defended Second Star like my child for the rest of that day.

Back at the con, we went to a panel about a VLARP group. They're doing Tales of Namco next year! Too bad it's during the summer, and I'm back in China next summer D= It was interesting though. They're actually gonna make real gels! I would go to buy tonnes of apple gels, recklessly charge into battle, just to get an excuse to eat them.

My dad showed up half-way through that Panel, since he thought the con ended at 2:00PM. He was kinda annoyed that it wasn't, and left for home. He would be busy around the time the con actually ended, so we asked Karol's dad to pick us up. We went to watch an episode of Anime Touhou and then went to buy a few last things before we left.

On the way home, we stopped for some bubble tea, and got a considerable amount of stares now that we were away from the convention. It was really good bubble tea though.

So we went home, and I dragged Flynn to my house for dinner. And that's the end of my first Convention experience.

Next up: Anime North!

P.S: Lesson learned. Screw making accurate shoes. Comfortable running shoes are more important D= *is dealing with two blisters on my feet right now*
